I Have More To Say
Photographic Series (2024)
The words left unsaid, moments that sit heavy in the silence of thought. Fragments of light that seep through the cracks, slowly fading as the day descends
‘I Have More to Say’ is the second chapter to the previous series ‘I Have Something to Tell You’. Like the last, this collection of photographs creates the illusion that the viewer is located within each frame - embroiled in the moment when something has happened. The tight crop composition creates a sense of intimacy where only part of the location and moment is accessible to the viewer. A melancholic atmosphere is cast by lighting the objects in a dark, cinematic way. Just like the catharsis you feel when listening to a sad song the feeling you get when encountering these moments is much the same.
There are no figures in any of the works. Instead, objects communicate a human presence - taps left running, cigarettes left burning, teapots overflowing. The audience is both a voyeur and a participant. Sometimes it just takes one object to inspire a conversation - a missing photograph off a wall, a love note in a bouquet, the deflated balloon in the backseat of a car. Who are they, what has been left unsaid and where do we go from here? Bringing our own lived experiences to these photographs allows each viewer the opportunity to weave their own narrative
